Grandma's Rocking Chair - June 16, 2014 - Paper Pumpkin

Grandma's Rocking Chair Question - What do you think about Paper Pumpkin?  Should I sign up for it?

Let me be clear I LOVE MY PAPER PUMPKIN.  Why, well my reason may be different than yours and there are a lot of different reasons so that is OK.  Let me say as a business sometimes I don't create just for me.  I make cards, scrapbooks, paper crafts for others, for classes and for videos, but sometimes not for me.  I got into Stampin' Up! because I love to create things. I use to do a craft a year - one year it was crocheting, one year ceramic, one year glass painting etc.  I found Stampin' Up! and I could do different things with the same tools and I loved it.  I joined as a Demonstrator to really get the 20% discount as I was buying a lot of things from them and it really is a great savings. I created to de-stress from work and it really helped. I also found out I loved to research and find new techniques and to also teach them to others.  We moved from DC to Wyoming and a new job I really needed some more de-stressors and with my oldest daughter I really needed to create.  I found some friends here and my stamping business started to become a business.  I retired and really wanted to make the business a business and I hope it will be a full going business soon, but I lost something in the process.  I lost the fun and the creating just for me.
Don't get me wrong I create but I do it for the business.  Find the techniques, I create the cards for the classes, I create make and takes for my hostesses, I design wedding invitations and I put together scrapbooks for others. I love it I really do but sometimes I need something just for me.

That is where My Paper Pumpkin comes in.  My Paper Pumpkin comes every month like clock work, only $19.95 and that includes shipping, you will have to pay your state taxes but that shouldn't be to bad.  So for around $20 you get a kit every month.  Stampin' Up! says that it takes 30 minutes to finish the kit and it is usually less but still I can get a few minutes in for a good project just for me. Yes I do a video of me opening it and doing one things but I do a few on my own and having the video on is not tough I am still doing it for me.

So I think everyone should be subscribing to My Paper Pumpkin.  Maybe not for my reason but there are other reasons to do it.  So let me list a few.

1. Every Month it is a different project, like a celebration when you get that box. Don't you love surprises?  Paper Pumpkin has one every month.

2. You get to create something every month.  With kids, job, house chores, family obligations and with all the running around we do sometimes we just need to keep that right brain active.  What better way than a 30 minute craft once a month. Quick and easy and you can even find 30 minutes waiting for the kids to get out of school or at a swim meet (I do take mine to some strange places).

3. You don't have a lot of money to spend on crafts, but you still like to make cards and have nice hand made gifts at home for that special occasion.  For $19.95 plus tax you get to have just that.  Some months you make cards usually 4 -5 cards, some months it is great project or a super present just for that right person.

4. You don't want to buy a lot of stuff and never use it.  Each Paper Pumpkin Kit comes with Everything you need to create the project except Scissors and some adhesives. So you get the Stamp set from 2 - 6 stamps (only available with the Paper Pumpkin Kit), you get an ink spot a different one each month, you get all the card stock cut to the proper size, you get all tags and embellishments and sometimes even a surprise. Where can you get that all for $19.95.

5. Now you have two ways to get Paper Pumpkin.  You can sign up for it and it will come every month unless you put it on hold or cancel it.  Or you can buy pre-paid subscriptions. for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.  When you are ready to start just go to the Paper Pumpkin Site and put in your subscription, you can also hold this for a month or more if you will be out of town or busy. You can even order it for a friend as a gift - wouldn't you want a gift of 30 minutes of me time every month.
