Stampin' Addicts Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop - Heartfelt

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop.

Now if you came in order you got here from Twila (Stamp a Little Longer) and her Twisty Treats.  Aren't they great, doesn't she do a lovely job.
If you would like to hear more about the Hop you can find out a lot of the information here:
http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/general-stampin-talk/9478-sale-bration-blog-hop-january-31-2014-a.html
You can also go to my Linky/Blog Hop Page to find all the participants.

What did I choose to do?  I choose Heartfelt the Banner Kit.

I really like Banners and wanted to see this one.  I made one according to the instructions - I did have some left overs that I used in other ways.  I did not include photos on it as I am going to give it to my daughter who is graduating this year and I want her to fill it up with her friends senior pictures so she can take it to college.

I did sponge up some of the flags.  The coordinating colors are Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizzazz.  I love the flower flags, and the felt balls are great.  I added a stamp from You're Lovely.  I intertwined the two strings with the felt balls and the flags.

I had a few things left over and needed a Birthday Card so I used some of the left over on a card.

I also used the Sale-A-Bration Set - See Ya Later (133536).  From the Occasion Mini Catalog I used Banner Framelits (132173). From the Annual Catalog I used the Chevron Embossing Folder (127749).  I Sponged the Heart with Coastal Cabana.  I attached the heart with Sticky Strip everything else with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I love the Chevron look with the banner framelits.

The next thing I knew I was opening my second pack of Heartfelt and was doing some cards.
I really love this one.

I used three of the flags from Heartfelt (133514),  I told you I love the Flower Flag doesn't it just pop.  The green flag fit perfect behind the Flower Flag with just the top and bottom showing and makes it stand out.  I then layered them on the one of the Heart cut out flags.  I used Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (133520) for the background on the Calypso Coral Card.  I used, I like you from You're Lovely Sale-A-Bration set (133578), and the Circles Collection Framelits (130911).  This is one of the best cards I created with the Heartfelt Banner Kit.  I may show more later.

Hope you like this part of the hop.  Your next stop will be Yapha at Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha She has some great projects using See Ya Later.
You can also get to Twilia and Yapha with these arrows.  Have fun at the rest of the Blog Hop.

There's A Card Thursday - January 30, 2014 - Star or Sun Burst Card

So today as I promised on Tips & Techniques Tuesday we will be putting together a card with the Star/Sun Burst technique.

This card went to a very good friend when she started her new job.

I really like this technique and it is really good because you can do a bunch of bases and then just pop them on cards with a focal point or saying and you got a card.  I will have keep some in my fast card box.

This post will be a little short as I am scheduling it as I have to bring Kayla to the Denver Airport and her flight leaves at 7:30 AM which means we are out of the house by 3:30 AM.  But check back here on Friday as I will be part of the Stampin' Addicts Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Remember to get those orders in for your Sale-A-Bration freebies.

Happy Stamping

Tips & Techniques Tuesday - January 28, 2014 - Starburst or Sunburst Technique

First off let me just say -

Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday Dear Mary
Happy Birthday to Me.

Yes today is my birthday, but I am not going to tell you how old I am, but my daughters think I am older than dirt.

I do enjoy Birthdays as I love to party.  I have a friend whose Birthday is also today and she is way older than I am.  We met at our gym taking an exercise class and I just hope in 20 years years I am still doing what she is doing being 30 years older than I am.  Happy Birthday Tess.

Today is also Tips & Techniques Tuesday and I will be showing you how to do the Sunburst or Starburst technique.  I have heard it called both so I really don't know which is the right name.  It is a fun technique and this one uses Designer Series Paper - there is another one that uses ink which I will show you later - and makes a great background.  On There's A Card Thursday I will make some cards using this technique for you, so check back on Thursday.

Today is also the START OF SALE-A-BRATION.  I will show you some things you can do with the free items you can get during Sale-A-Bration after the video.

Well then let's get to the video

Grandma's Rocking Chair - January 26, 2014 - Dazzling Detail Glitter

Grandma's Rocking Chair Question - How to do you put on Dazzling Diamonds?

I use Dazzling Diamonds very rarely,  I love the look but hate that it gets all over and I do mean all over.  Today I had an Open House for my Birthday and brought out the bling.  Part of the bling they could use, was the Dazzling Diamonds.

I got this idea from Sue Reynolds at convention.  I thought it was great for a Birthday Party and it was.
It really needed bling so we blinged it up.  Pearls, Rhinestones, and Dazzling Diamonds.  I would have used the glass glitter as that doesn't get all over, but it was to big and would not look nice on this little light.  Since a lot of the folks have never used Dazzling Diamonds and wanted to know about it.  So thought you would all like to know about Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

This is what Stampin' Up! Product description says about Dazzling details.

Stampin’ Glitter

Features & Benefits
·         Polyester glitter
·         Adds a touch of sparkle
·         Easy to adhere with Heat & Stick Powder, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, or Sticky Strip
Dazzling Diamonds
·         1/2 oz.
·
Quick Trick
You can dye Dazzling Diamonds to coordinate with any Stampin’ Up! color. Here’s how:

1. Add one drop of Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill and a few drops of water to an empty Stack & Store
container.
2. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of Dazzling Diamonds and mix. Continue adding glitter until all the dye is
absorbed. The glitter will become fluffy as it absorbs the dye.
3. Continue to mix glitter until it sparkles. The dyed glitter will stay fluffy but the color will reflect off
the glitter, so all you see is colored sparkles.

Add a splash of glitter to fingernail polish for unique effects!

I will have to try it with nail polish.

So how do you get it to stick.
1.  Stampin' Up! says to use Heat & Stick Powder but I think it is not easy for someone who has never used it before so that was not a good one.  Though if you have used it before and are not putting the glitter on plastic it works great.

2. Multipurpose Glue -  not bad but I didn't use it, mainly because they make dots and heavy lines or if you use the other tip a large swatch. and all we needed was a small area covered.

3. Sticky Strip - not good for this one as we were only doing a small area. and needed to attach on odd shaped objects.

4. What I used - 2-Way Glue Pen - I really like this as you can just put some on the small areas wait a few seconds until most of it dries and then drop it into the the Dazzling Diamonds container.  I put all my embossing powders, and glitters in  those plastic ziplock boxes, works great and helps keep the glitter a little better.
Ziploc® brand Containers with the Smart Snap® Seal

You can even use Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals to attach glitter.

Because everyone had fun i may have to take out the Dazzling Diamonds more often.

Just remember 2 days before Sale-A-Bration Starts, get your list ready.

Happy Stamping
