Ready for the Weekend

When I was working at my Federal Job  I always looked forward to the weekend. Today as I was thinking about what I have going on this weekend,  I am looking forward to Monday.  My husband actually has the weekend off, those in retail know that is usually not the case, and I hope to at least get a few hours with him on Saturday evening. Saturday 8 - noon I have to be at First Reconciliation at Church and then back again from 1 - ?? for a town hall meeting on church finances and since I am party of the Finance Council I have to be there.  Hopefully I will get to a movie with my hubby on Saturday night. My oldest daughter wants to go to a swim meet on Saturday so Don will  have to take her.  Sunday morning is church and Faith Formation until around noon then back home for My Birthday Open House.  Then back to church at 6:00 for another Town Hall meeting.  I am looking forward to my Open House I have 11 people who are coming and it should be fun.  I have two make and takes and two games we will play.  I have a birthday give away and after the movie tomorrow I have to put together the goody bags for everyone, I forgot those today.  I have everything prepped for the make and takes and cleaned my stamping room and set up today so that is ready to go.  I have my Techniques class ready to go for next Month but I need to design two Christmas cards for my class next weekend, I have the ideas but not the examples.  I told Meigan sometime this weekend we would do another video. I am exhausted and it is not even Saturday yet.
here is the peek at my techniques class for next month.
So wish me luck, it will be a fun long weekend and I do enjoy it so much.

Good Workshop Today

Had a really good workshop today.  All thanks to a Great Hostess, Michelle,  she really knows how to do it up right.  Had about 16 guests.  The workshop will stay open for awhile, so everyone can get their orders it. It will be so nice when we can take the orders on line.

This is the Demo I did though I did use Real Red for the box.  It sure made a nice hostess gift.  I made three more  3x3 cards and matching envelopes.

This is the Make and Take everyone did.  I think everyone liked it.

Thanks again Michelle.

Remember to schedule those workshops for Sale-A-Bration.

Busy Day

OK  I am waiting for stuff to print so thought I would write a little.  I am prepping for a workshop tomorrow and I have to run and get some suckers.  Then I have to have everything ready.  I just got my instructions for the make and take done, that is what is printing. Tonight is a meeting at Church and since I am on the Financial Committee I have to attend the Town Hall as it is about Finances. So the girls and Don are on their own for dinner.  This week we have not had a lot of dinners together though I did buy a chicken on my way home last night and had a good dinner.  I also have to mail out a few birthday cards which I have to make first. Well the printing is done and I have to run.  Have a good Stamping day.

Stampin' Up! Leadership 2013 Saturday and Big announcements

Today started early or at least it felt like it.  You know those Pajama parties you never get enough sleep.
Started out with Shellie and she was not feeling any better her cough was worse but she struggled through it.  She showed the Oh Hello Suite.  Some really nice stuff. Here is a few photos of the things she made.

It was also announced that the next group of single stamps are on their way.  I was only able to get a shot of 5 but there will be 10 and some just as single stamps.

Scott our CFO gave us some figures for 2012 World Wide Revenue was $184.2 Million goal for 2013 is $185.5 Million. In 2012 900,00 orders were shipped with an 84% correct and timely.  I would say that is pretty good I think it was very noticeable. 2012 World Wide had 18,750 Recruits North America had 14,189

Another announcement that about a new promotion.  For the 25th Anniversary Stampin' Up! is bringing back some great stamps Each month they will bring a set of stamps 3-5 best selling and one new stamp.  This set will be $14.95, you will get a card and sticker and for every 6 stamps sets you buy you can purchase a stamp set out of the catalog for up to $14.95.  Is that great or not.

Here is the first set coming out.

Then we went to our break out classes.  Today I attended. Creating your Blue Print for Success presented by Brandi Barnard and Meg Daves. This was a good class for Leadership 2013 and I really learned a lot and one thing they told us is for us Demos is that they are going to have a Cost Calculator that will help us find out how much our classes and workshops actually cost us.  Something we use but is not always up to date.

Next class I attended was Meet New People, Find New Faces by Shannon West another good Leadership 2013 class.  10 ways to meet new people some really good ones that I will be trying.

Then back for the final General Session.

Pam Morgan gave a good talk about not discounting as it hurts all of us and also the image of Stampin' Up!

Rich Jutkins came on and reminded us that we should be concentrating on the pearls of why we are with Stampin' Up! and is is not the box (the incentives, the bags, the and other things). we are in it because we love what we do and we Share what we love.  Stampin' Up! is a unique company and not really in it because we love to stamp and we want to build relationships Stamps is just how we do it not that making money isn't important but that is not really why Stampin' Up! started  was a really good wake up call.

Shellie came on again and made what I think was the biggest announcement of the convention.  We will be able to add on-line orders to workshops.  Which means your hostess friends can add orders on-line and connect them to the workshop.  I wish we could use it now but no date yet.  I know my workshops will get more orders and now you can set up on-line workshops.

IT then ended.  Sure went by fast for my first Leadership.  I will miss my roomies Rosemary and Heidi.  I had a great time.  Here are a few more photos of some samples.

Stampin' Up! Leadership 2013 Friday the Rest of the story

OK we are back from the PJ party ( Night General Session) and I hope I have a few minutes to up date you all on the happenings for today.  Don't know how long I will last, as I am tired it was a very long day.  First Shellie came on to  welcome us and we went through a great Video Timeline you can see it here.  http://youtu.be/CjbEBrlEQII  of course all yo that have ever been to an event know that Shellie couldn't be on stage talking about what a difference we make with out shedding a few tears.

Then Sara came on to show a few projects dealing with kits.  She made some great things with the kits. Then she made a great  announcement a new kit just for guys called the "Dude, You're Welcome" kit.

Just some of the cards your man can make.

Numerous prize patrols. Then Bonnie Thurber came on with an even better announcement.  Stampin' Up! will be having a monthly kit which will arrive at your door every month.  Will Start soon.  It is called the Paper Pumpkin and you can see all about it at
https://mypaperpumpkin.com/
Will be $19.95 a month which will include shipping.  You will get a welcome kit the first month which will also include a block for your stamp.  Projects will include cards, 3-D items, home decor, gifts, and may include some exclusive stamps and art work.  Will also include photos and detail instructions. If you sign up by the 10th you will get that months project you will auto renew every month but can cancel at any time.  You can even buy a try it kit from me for $16.95 this one I have to charge shipping on but it will include 2 journals.  Sign up now and put me down as your demonstrator.

Here is a photo of what will be in the try it kit.

Next was a class Ramping Up Your Social Media Presence by Andrea Withers.  Actually 3 Demos gave how they made it on Facebook, Blogs and You Tube.  Was a good class and I will use a lot of their tips. A great Class for Leadership 2013.

Then had a great lunch and I had my Technique Swap got a lot of great cards. I will publish some when I get home.  We then had an afternoon of mini classes by demonstrators.  I went to Using Blogging to Attract New Customers, Connecting with New Customers, Attracting Customers with Youtube Videos, Facebook, Downline coaching and writing Engaging Blog Posts.

Then it was supper and back for the PJ Party.

I will have to say that I did win my first prize patrol and since it looks like we will not be getting make and takes this year I will give the Just Thinking Stamp to the comment winner.

They also announced the Spring Regional

Stampin 'Up! Leadership 2013

Well check in went well.  it was fun Carrie Cudney checked me in.  rosemary and I then headed for the service project which was packing Stampin' Up! bags with With Stampin' Up! merchandise for teachers in the Orlando Area goal was to do 2000 I helped by doing 23 bags.  Rosemary wanted us to do 33 the number of schools in the District she works in she did 10 I did 23 and we made the goal.

I also went to the first timers get together, if this is your first time at Leadership you get to go and meet people.  We played get to know you BINGO I think I found everything but Find another Demo at First time that is from your State, didn't meet anyone else from WY.

The three of us then went to the class How to get to Managers' Reception Next Year, with Brian Pilling.  Was good, things I knew but needed reminders about.  Writing down your goals and sharing them with someone.  Well I will share with you all my goal  To be a manager by June 30 2013.  I need to have $7,200 in 12 month rolling sales, 6 active Demonstrators under me and 1 of my demonstrators need to be a Supervisor.

The Convention center is great and big.  Has great flowers and colorful plants all around I really like the color so different than the brown white of Cheyenne this time of year.

Walk in the morning

Just got back from a walk to the convention center.  Not that far and most of it was inside the part of the convention center we are in is a few blocks maybe a mile big.  They also have another part across the street  I wonder what type of convention would fill up either one of them and wouldn't guess which would fill up both.  Just walking inside to the Chapin Theater  we saw three other conventions.  I am enjoying it and can't wait until today at 1 when we can pick up our stuff and it officially begins.

Will write more later when we come back.

Happy stamping from Hogwarts

Spent the day today drinking Butter beer - why has it taken so long to get butterscotch flavored soda pop. They I was flying on a broom and tried out a few wands.  Had a really good time at Hogsmead and Hogwarts.  Both of my roomies are here  and we are getting ready for Leadership to start tomorrow.
Hi from Hogwarts

Made it in to Orlando but had a few problems with my computer, finally figured it out and now all is well.

I will be heading to Universal Studios to see Harry Potter exhibit I can't wait.  I got a great journal using MDS 2 from one of my roomies  I will take a picture and post it this evening.

To all my Northern friends just have to say we sat outside this morning to eat breakfast.  Was really nice.  Remember to comment to be put into a drawing for all make and takes at leadership

Orlando here I come and Goody Give Away.

All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go.  This will be my first Stampin' Up! Leadership conference I attend and I am so excited.  First off I get to see and stay with two good stamping friends who I have not seen in a few years.  I also get to attend some great classes and see some great Demonstrations and I will be in Florida and not Wyoming in January, what more can be said.
I would like to make this interesting while I am gone, even though I will try and post daily about what is happening I know sometimes I won't be able to so for every comment I get I will enter everyone who comments in a drawing for a pack of all the make and takes we do at leadership.  So check back often and comment often.

Will be back in WY on Sunday the 13.  Also don't forget to register for January's Technic Class here is a reminder of what we will be doing.

Direction for Kiss Heart Base

This is the first time I will try and create instructions, wish me luck.

Instructions to create the base for Qbees Hershey Kiss Heart

1. Use a piece of Card Stock 2 by 7 1/2

2. Score the card stock on the 7 1/2 side at 1, 3 1/4, 4 1/4, 5 1/4, 5 1/2, 6 1/2.

 3. Score card stock on the 2 inch side at 1 inch

4. Add Snail along the 7 1/2 inside edge

5. Fold sides together to form a 1 by 7 1/2 inch piece

 6. Fold the scored pieces the 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 are valley folds, the rest of the scores are mountain scores.

7. Put sticky strip on the inside of one edge and on the piece of card stock between the two valley folds (5 1/4 and 5 1/2)

8. Pull off the red of the end and attach it to the opposite end.

9.Pull off the red from the strip between the valley folds and attach to the center of the bottom 2 1/4 .

10. Insert two Kisses

11.  Attach a piece of sticky strip to each side of the inside of the base.

12. Remove the red and settle in the heart.

 Hope that helps.
