Stamp & Camp with Mary Tips & Techniques Tuesday - January 21, 2020 - Coloring our Whisper White Seam Binding

I love ribbon but as you all know I have very little space in my RV  for a ton of ribbon.  Well I bought the Whisper White 1/4 Crinkled Seam Binding. and now I can have all Stampin' Up! colors in ribbon.  All I have to do is color the ribbon.  I have 2 ways to do that.  Easy and fun to do.  Just do a few lengths or do a whole roll of ribbon, do it in advance or make your colors as you need it.  I love that I have all the colors and only 1 roll of ribbon.

Check it out here.

Stamp & Camp with Mary There's A Card Thursday - July 4, 2019 - Stampin' Up! Sponge Mountain Card

Today I would like to finish off the card which we started on Tuesday in Tips & Techniques Tuesday.  The Sponge Mountain Card.

You can see how you do the technique by clicking here

Now let's look at putting this card together.

Product List
Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad
131172

Supplies: Stamp Set – Strong & Beautiful [148732]; Ink - Tuxedo Black Memento [132708], Blushing Bride [147100], Flirty Flamingo [147052], Mango Melody [147093], Coastal Cabana [147097], Bermuda Bay [147096], Pacific Point [147098], Balmy Blue [147105], Night Of Navy [147110]; Card Stock – Coastal Cabana 8 ½ x 5 ½  [131297], Bermuda Bay 5 ¼ x 4 [131197], Poppy Parade 5 x 3 ¾  [119793], Whisper White 5 ½ x 4 ¼  [100730]; Accessories - Mini Glue Dots [103683], Sponge Daubers [133773], printer paper scrap.

Instructions:
  1. Making the Mountains
  2. Starting with the lightest Pink ink with sponge dauber, sponge on the bottom 2/3 of the Whisper White.  You do not need to cover ever bit of it and it does not need to be even.
  3. Add the next pink color and do it the same way just sponge it on the bottom 2/3 and you don’t need to have it even or completely covered.
  4. Add a bit of the Mango Melody toward the top of the Pinks.  Not a lot just some to make it look like sun shining.
  5. Start with the lightest blue and with the sponge dauber sponge from the top down. You can go over a little of the Pink.  You want to get the darkest Blue at the top of the card.
  6. Continue with all the blues except Night of Navy, in the same manner making sure that it is Darkest on the top.
  7. Rip scrap paper to make mountains. NOTE this is going to be different. You are going to use the part that you ripped off not the mountains but what you ripped to make the mountains.
  8. Place the Scrap Paper on the Pink Area – It is usually on top not the bottom to make the mountains.  Leave some pink, you may want to hold down your scrap paper with Washi Tape.  Ink up you Sponge Dauber with Night of Navy and start on the scrap and come down, Not  very far you do not want to go to the bottom.  Keep going across you may want to go in a straight line down as sometimes if you use the circle motion it rips the paper.
  9. You can either use the same paper or another piece but move down the card and repeat you can leave some pink in between.  Do the same thing don’t go all the way down but make sure you have an outline.
  10. Repeat a Third or even a fourth time on the last one you can go al the way to the end of the Whisper White.
  11. You can always go back and put in another layer if you want.

Assembling the Card.

  1. Once your Mountain Background is dry, with Memento Stamp the saying.
  2. Now Cut down the card front to 4 ¾ x 3 ½
  3. If you would like to stamp something on the inside please do.  I stamped one on the inside.
  4. Attach the Mountains to the Gorgeous Grape and then to the Daffodil Delight and then to the Poppy Parade Card Base

Now you have a full card.

I made a really great silhouette card using this technique in the Stamp a Month Club Last month.  Did you know that you can join my Stamp Class for just $15 a month and get from 3 - 8 cards a month.  Check it out by clicking here.

There's A Card Thursday - August 2, 2018 - Stampin' Up! Birthday Wishes and Glossy Card Stock

Today I want to show you a great technique that I love doing.  I get a lot of photo paper when I buy ink and this is a great way to use that up or to use Stampin' up! Glossy Card Stock.

You can do any color combinations and you can leave it alone and just use it as that or stamp on it, you do have to use Stazon to stamp on it  but I love it.

Let's see how to do it.

Product List

Instructions:
  1. With sponge daubers  sponge the In-colors on the glossy cardstock.
  2. With Stazon stamp the Happy Birthday.
  3. With Glue Dots attach the Glossy Card Stock to the Call me Clover, then to the Grapefruit Grove and then to the Blueberry Bushell.
  4. Tie a bow with the Grapefruit Grove Twine and with glue dots attach to the Card Front.
