Sleepy Hollow State Park MI
Well this is a sort of lady back day sort of. Meigan is
working, Kayla is on her way home.
I know what my mother felt like when I traveled. It is like holding your breath for the entire
day. I am sorry mom when I didn’t call
the second I got in, I am sorry when I
laughed at you because I knew how to drive and could do it with no problem, I
am sorry I felt invincible and you were just being a mom.
Went back to East Lansing after Meigan was done for the
day. Went to the new Target in downtown
East Lansing and ate at No Thai, wasn’t the best place to eat but OK. I don’t think we will be making that one of
our go to places.
We looked at what we needed to do and got some boxes but
really didn’t do much else. Headed back
to the camp.
July 30th 2019 Tuesday
Sleepy Hollow State Park MI
Well today was the pack day.
Got into Meigan’s and started packing.
Trying to see what she wanted to take with her to Australia and leave in
storage. We decided to take her viola
and coat and leave it in the condo. We had
to do a few errands but most of it was packing.
We did walk over to Dairy Store and had ice cream, such a great
time. Don did laundry and I had a quick
nap. Going to be an early couple of mornings in the next few days. Took a long walk around the campground.
I really hope we are doing the right thing by buying the
condo. A lot of thinking going on.
July 31 2019 Wednesday Sleepy Hollow State Park MI
Move day for Meigan.
Meigan was all prepared and we didn’t have to wait long. The movers were 2 young guys and it took them
about 15 minutes to load up. We then
went for lunch at Thai Princess now this will be our go to place. Meigan is now with us in Patty and I am so thankful
that we get to spend sometime with her.
Tomorrow will be a long stressful day.
August 1, 2019 Thursday Sleepy Hollow State Park MI
Well up early and go go go all day.
Meigan had a dentist appointment at 8 AM just a cleaning but seemed like a good
cleaning. They suggested that she get a
bite guard or splint for her teeth since she is still grinding them.
Then we drove over to the condo and parked since the next
stop will be Meigan’s haircut. We walked
around for awhile and then Don and I went over to open a checking account of
course we didn’t have our Trust documents so no go.
Then we went to look at couches and found a nice furniture
store. Found a nice sleeper sofa (I
don’t like the color but oh well it is a brown)
Went to Chick Fil A and then back to more furniture.
Went to do the final walk through and realized that the
walls and baseboards were a light baby poop green and the carpet is a lighter
green. OK we measured for the couch and it may just
fit. It really is smaller than I thought
but I think it will be OK. But
green, we have to redo the carpet and
paint some more. We really are low on
funds and having to do all this may not be able to afford. Oh well maybe we can do it ourselves or begin
to like the green.
After the tour we did a few things and then headed to pay
and get the keys. It was really a
stressful time but it did go really well and smoothly. Andrea gave us a bottle of wine and two great
glasses something for a night in our new place.
We went back and took another look at everything including
the storage area. Still green. Then we
went off and bought us a sleeper sofa so we will have that delivered on
Wednesday.
Got back to the campground and I had to create something or
I would go nuts. Still not sure if this
is what we should have done. OH well
leave it in God’s hands.
August 2, 2019 Friday, Sleepy Hollow state Park/ Heartland
Woods RV Resort MI Coast to Coast
Well really didn’t have to leave early as the Heartland
Woods Resort was not that far. After winding through the back roads we finally
got in and then realized that this weekend was a music fest at the campground. Oh well.
This has nice big campsite only because you can not find the
campsite not very well laid out. A lot of trees and a lot of permanent
campers some very bad looking. People are OK they said they had internet but after the
first few minutes we did not get any signal and Verizon had 1 small bar and
AT&T had 3 -4 so that is what we will be using.
OK this is one
site. 313 and 314 only 3 feet in between
the 2. We found out that they just put
up the numbers where they can and they don’t go by it. No sewer hook up so will have to dump at
least once.
This is the Laundry room and one of the bathrooms
showers. I love how they decorated
it. No the greatest facility but will
do. They have a great playground and a
pond and swimming pool. We will see how
the music is tonight and if it keeps us awake.
August 3, 2019 Saturday Heartland wood RV resort
Well once again we went into the condo. Went and bought some things for the condo
like sheets, towels some cleaning supplies.
Had fun and ate at Panera. We got
to the condo and walked around found the garbage chute, etc. Found out how to use the buzzer which wasn’t
very good I could not hear Meigan at all.
Got back to the campground and the music fest was going on
it sounded very good so listened to that for awhile. Some folks were up late
like after midnight.
