Today I want to help you all stay safe by making masks. All right maybe not masks to ear but Paper Masks to send.
For Tips & Techniques Tuesday we will do the Masks then on There's A Card Thursday you can finish the card it is on.
Let's take a look at just making the mask.
Product List
Instructions Mask:
- Take the 2 ¾ x 2 1/8 Designer Series Paper ( You can use what ever paper you like). Using the Simply Scored and the 2 1/8 at the top Score at ½ , 5/8, 1, 1 1/8, 1 ½, 1 5/8.
- Using an Accordion Fold, fold one mountain the next valley all the way through all the scores. Burnish them down so they are tight.
- Make some of your own Self Adhesive Card Strips. Take a long piece of Neutral Card Stock or a Coordinating color to your Designer Series Paper. Take a strip of Tear & Tape and place it on the edge of the Neutral Card Stock. Then with your Paper Trimmer cut the Cardstock self adhesive strips at ¼ or 1/8” so you have your strips.
- Using a ¼” Cardstock Strip Run it on the backside down the ends, holding the folds together. Burnish well so they don’t pop apart.
- Turn to the front. Take 1/8 Card Stock strips and put them on the edges, burnishing them down. Then run an 1/8 strip across the top and bottom.
- Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine ( You can use 1/8 ribbon or any other Thick Bakers Twine) cut 2 2 ¾ pieces and attach to the back of the mask with glue dots.
- You can spread it open and keep it open with a strip of self-adhesive card stock (About 2”) a long the back of starting from the top middle to the bottom or at least the last pleat. This will make it hard to put in a regular envelope so make sure you would like to do this. Also if you mail it, it will get squashed.
So not bad and I will tell you it does get easier.
